Key innovations included USB-C charging capability, making them compatible with laptop chargers, and advanced IoT connectivity for features like GPS tracking, anti-theft alarms, and over-the-air software updates via a dedicated mobile app. The brand emphasized rider safety and comfort with features like large pneumatic tires, a wide standing deck, and a dual braking system. Despite its innovative approach and focus on quality and sustainability, Äike Mobility OÜ has unfortunately filed for bankruptcy.

Warranty & Known Issues

Warranty Terms

Äike offers a 2-year warranty for consumer sales, starting from the date of delivery. The warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship but does not extend to normal wear and tear of parts such as tires, brakes, and manually operated plastic components, nor does it cover insignificant defects like scratches or dents. Purchasers are required to notify Äike of any errors within a reasonable period of becoming aware of them. Modifying the scooter, its batteries, or electrical systems independently will void the warranty.

Known Issues

Äike Mobility OÜ has filed for bankruptcy. A significant security vulnerability was discovered where all Äike scooters were reportedly shipped with the same default private key, allowing a master key to unlock any scooter. This issue came to light after the company's bankruptcy, leaving owners with concerns about the functionality and security of their devices.
