Warranty Terms

Reid offers a 1-year warranty on eScooters and their batteries from the date of purchase. This warranty excludes consumable components such as tires, brake pads, mechanical cables, and grips. The warranty applies only to the original owner and is not transferable. It may be voided by improper assembly or maintenance, neglect, abuse, improper transport, alteration, modification, or any abnormal or improper use, including riding through standing water, stunt riding, or off-road use. Weight limits (typically 100kg or 120kg) apply, and exceeding these can void the warranty. For eMobility items, batteries must be periodically checked and charged every 6 months if unused; proof of this may be required for warranty claims if the battery is over 6 months old. All warranty matters are on a 'return-to-base' basis, meaning the product must be returned to the place of purchase for evaluation and repair/replacement.

Known Issues

Common issues reported by users include speed limiters, with many scooters capped at 25km/h (or 15.5 mph in the UK) due to regulations, leading some users to seek firmware modifications. Some users have experienced unreliability, sudden stops, and error codes (e.g., E10, often related to the controller or motor sensor). Loose charging port wires have also been identified as a potential problem. Customer service for warranty claims has received mixed reviews, with some reports of difficulties and long repair turnarounds.
