Ride Jetson App
Jetson offers varying warranty periods depending on the product type. Electric scooters (kids & adults), kids' electric ride-ons, and all-in-one go-karts have a 180-day warranty for the frame, fork/suspension, and electrical components, while other parts and accessories are covered for 90 days. Electric bikes and adult electric ride-ons come with a one-year warranty for the frame, fork/suspension, gears, crankshafts, chains, and electrical components, with other parts covered for 90 days. Kick scooters, hoverboards, go-karts with detachable hoverboards, and non-electric ride-ons have a 90-day warranty. Remanufactured products are also covered for 90 days from the purchase date.
The warranty covers defects in material and workmanship and requires a valid proof of purchase from an authorized seller and the product's serial number. It explicitly excludes malfunctions resulting from improper maintenance, accidents, water damage, normal wear and tear, or unauthorized repairs and modifications. For warranty service, Jetson may provide a free replacement part for DIY repair, replace the product, repair it, or offer store credit. International customers are responsible for shipping costs for warranty claims. Extended warranty coverage is available for purchase through Extend, Inc.
Some Jetson electric scooter models, particularly those with airless or hard tires, have been reported to provide a bumpy ride on uneven surfaces. Users have also reported occasional issues with the companion app's connectivity. Additionally, some models may experience reduced speed performance for riders exceeding certain weight limits.
Jetson Electric Bikes has had two significant product recalls:
1. **March 2023: Jetson Rogue Self-Balancing Scooters/Hoverboards.** Approximately 53,000 units of the 42-volt Jetson Rogue self-balancing scooters/hoverboards were recalled due to a fire hazard. The lithium-ion battery packs in these devices could overheat, posing a risk of fire. This recall was initiated following reports of incidents, including two fatalities linked to a house fire where a Jetson Rogue hoverboard was identified as the point of origin.
2. **June 2023: Nova and Star 3-Wheel Kick Children's Scooters.** Around 15,300 Nova and Star 3-Wheel Kick Children's Scooters were recalled due to a fall hazard. The rear wheel of these scooters could loosen or detach, leading to falls. At least one injury, involving scratches and bruises to a child's face, was reported in connection with this defect.
