Warranty & Known Issues
Warranty Terms
The Bolzzen e-Scooter warranty is valid for a period of up to 12 months from the date of purchase or until the e-Scooter reaches 2000 kilometres, whichever comes first. This warranty is only valid for the original purchaser and for products purchased and used within Australia. It covers manufacturing defects and faults that may occur during normal use. Exclusions include normal wear and tear (e.g., tyre wear, cosmetic issues not affecting performance), damages from improper use, neglect, misuse, accidents, unauthorized alterations or modifications, issues from third-party accessories, commercial use, and water damage.
Known Issues
Some users have reported issues such as poor overall quality, battery problems (e.g., cutting out early, not holding charge), frame and electrical issues, and dangerous faults like the scooter accelerating unexpectedly. Water damage is a significant concern, as it voids the warranty and has led to motor rusting for some users. A specific issue with the Bolzzen Commando model involved the folding mechanism pivot bolt failing, causing excessive play in the steering and handlebars, and potential detachment. Deck lights staying on has also been reported, which can be fixed by replacing the lighting module.
Recall History
On April 17, 2023, Bolzzen Pty Ltd recalled certain batch/lots of Bolzzen Commando 4822D Dual Motor Electric Scooters in Australia. The recall was due to a defect where the folding mechanism pivot bolt could fail, leading to excessive play in the steering and handlebars, and potential detachment of the handlebars from the deck. This posed an increased risk of falls, serious injury, or death. Consumers were advised to stop using the scooter immediately and contact their place of purchase for a free repair.
