Warranty & Known Issues
Warranty Terms
DRAGON Electric Scooters, primarily distributed by Bike Scooter City, offer a comprehensive warranty. All products (excluding parts) come with a 12-month limited warranty, while Dragon E-scooters specifically have a 24-month warranty on the chassis. Parts have a 3-month warranty if fitted by an approved repairer. The warranty covers manufacturing faults or defects, including motor, control board, and battery faults, under normal use.
What is NOT covered includes: expired warranty periods, failure to perform scheduled maintenance, altered or removed warranty/serial labels, products opened/altered/modified by unauthorized personnel, wear-and-tear on vulnerable components (wheels, tires, lights, consumables, battery lifespan), damage from misuse (dropping, collision, jumps, heavy shaking, bad storage), attempts to 'flash' or reset software/firmware, water ingestion (scooters are water-resistant but not waterproof), overloading, and opening the scooter's base. Commercial use has a limited 3-month warranty.
To claim warranty, customers can visit a local Bike Scooter City store or email repair@bikescootercity.com.au. The customer is responsible for return shipping costs, which are reimbursed if the issue is deemed a manufacturing fault. If a product is replaced, the warranty period does not reset but continues from the original purchase date.
Known Issues
Some users have reported issues with handlebar stems feeling flimsy or flexing, and the folding mechanism potentially coming loose. Throttle sensitivity has also been noted as an issue, making smooth low-speed control difficult. There are also general concerns on Reddit about Dragon scooters being rebadged Chinese models, with varying build quality compared to more established brands.
